Welcome to Pint of Goals! I am thrilled to have you
Where it all began…
In May of 2011, I accidentally stumbled into the blog world, specifically the “healthy living” blog world. Looking for a recipe for a smoothie, I found Run Eat Repeat and Carrots N’ Cake and was immediately addicted. Early on I thought about starting my own blog, but it took a while for me to build up the courage to take the step. It also took me a while to come up with a name for my blog. My friend Bridget thought of Pint of Goals, and in January of 2011, I was off running.
What do I do…
When I am not blogging (which is about five times a week right now), I am a high school English teacher. My job allows me to be creative and to be constantly learning; it also has taught me to be more patient and understanding. I truly love my job. At home, I am a wife to Brody and dog-mother to Moose and Frankie (both large, but not overweight, Golden Retrievers). In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, watching tv, going out to dinner, and cooking and baking.
Why I blog…
I found the blogging community, again, namely the “healthy living” community, to be very supportive. Reading health magazines has always been something I did for inspiration and knowledge. Many of the blogs I follow inspire me in the same way – I doubt I’d be running a full marathon if it were not for the blogs I read.
Also, as an English teacher, I expect my students to do a lot of reading and writing, and in turn, I end up reading and writing a lot as well. While I have always considered myself a reader, I haven’t thought of myself as a writer since my pre-teen years. One of the courses I teach is an intensive writing course, yet “writer” is not a title I give myself. This did not seem right to me. This blog is helping me see myself in the role.
Last but not least, I have a fantastic life. I am lucky to have an amazing husband, a wonderful (small) family, and terrific friends. Along with loving my job, I have the opportunity to travel quite often, go out to wonderful dinners, and just have fun in life. Unfortunately, I have a terrible memory. As an online journal, diary, or whatever you want to call it, my blog will help me remember and reminisce.
Once again, welcome to Pint of Goals!

I’m so glad you stopped by my blog so that I could find YOURS! I love that you say you are pint-sized – I am too! Tiny English teachers and cheer coaches…there can’t be that many of us out there!
Another similarity! I initially clicked on your blog because I also had my fastest run ever yesterday. Could we be each other’s blog dopplegangers? Ha
I believe so! Was yours an actual run, or a 45 second sprint haha?
I actually did the full run today.
Mine was an actual run – missed that detail when I read your post
Hope you actual run went well!
It did! I felt awesome when I finished!
Fabulously written about page! I feel like I know you already
